How to bid live?

Live bidding is a feature available only to our Premier & Expert members – it allows you to bid online in real-time on a vehicle of your choice during a live auction. Bidding live is simple and exhilarating! Upgrade Your Membership To begin bidding live, click "Join Now" on the vehicle of your choice to access the live auction block. Each live auction can last anywhere between 3 to 4 hours, depending on the number of vehicles on that lane. Once your item is up, you will see images, vehicle information, and bidding details. Please note that live bidding is very fast and can last anywhere from a few seconds to a minute, depending on the demand of the vehicle. When your item is up on the block, click the "Bid" button if you are willing to make a bid in the amount shown. It will become the new high bid unless another participating bidder outbids it. Alternatively, you may click "Auto Bid" and enter your maximum bid – it will prompt the automatic system to bid automatically on your behalf to outbid other bidders and up until your maximum bid if needed. The system will only bid enough to outbid other bidders and will not present your max bid unless necessary to outbid. How to pre-bid?

Preliminary bidding, a.k.a pre-bidding, is available to all SCA members. It's a convenient type of bidding that allows you to place your maximum bid up to 1 hour before the live auction starts; it's then submitted in increments by an automated bidding system to outbid other bidders. To place a pre-bid, go to a vehicle's listing page, enter your maximum bid, and click "Bid Now." Once the live auction starts for that vehicle, the automated system will bid on your behalf using your pre-bid in small increments to outbid other bidders. You will win the vehicle if no other bidder outbids your pre-bid during the live auction, and you'll only have to pay the amount you outbid with. How to buy "Buy It Now" vehicles?

You can purchase select vehicles instantly at SCA for a set price using our "Buy It Now" feature. This feature allows members to buy select vehicles before they ever go into a live auction – no bidding needed. To buy vehicles with the "Buy It Now" feature, simply click "Buy It Now" and checkout. How to pay for a vehicle?

Paying for a won vehicle is easy. Once you win by bidding or buying a vehicle using our "Buy It Now" feature, you will receive an email with an invoice and wire transfer payment instructions. In addition to the price of the vehicle, the following fees will be applied to your invoice: -Transaction fee (depends on your membership type) -Documentation fee (depends on your residency and vehicles location) -IAA auction fees (depends on vehicle type) -Sales tax (if applicable) Additionally, you may use our fee calculator for a breakdown of the fees that will apply to your vehicle purchase.
